How to apply appliques

HEAT-SEAL INSTRUCTIONS

A.  We recommend that you use a heat-seal machine to apply the appliques, but if you use a hand iron, the Manufacturer suggests at least tacking the corners of the appliqués onto the fabric.

1.            Set your machine temperature at 375 degrees.

2.            Place the appliqué where you want it and place a thin pressing cloth over the appliqué.

3.            Close the machine on the appliqué and hold shut for 12-15 seconds.

4.            Turn the garment inside out and repeat steps 1-3

5.            Let the appliqué cool.

Note:  These instructions are ideal for regular tee-shirt like fabrics.  The pressing time varies for thicker fabrics. 

 

USING A HAND IRON

1.      Set your iron at the hottest temperature setting.

2.      Place your appliqué where you desire and place a thin pressing cloth over the appliqué.

3.      Press the iron down on the appliqué and hold it for 30-40 seconds.  (add as much pressure as possible as it is as much pressure as heat that adheres it).

4.      Turn the garment inside out and repeat steps 1-3.

5.      Let the appliqué cool.

 Avoid the use of materials that cannot ensure the temperature necessary to affix patches properly.  Appliqués should not be applied to rainwear (water-proof), highly elastic or nylon fabrics. 

 

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Recommended:  Dry Clean or Machine Wash. 

For Machine wash, turn garment "inside-out" before washing, Cold water on delicate cycle. 

Tumble dry low or line dry.
