Introduction from Ginny Watson of Magic Mouse
Creations!
Did you ever wonder what to do with all those
little pieces of fabric you have been collecting? I hate to call
them "scraps"! When I traveled in nova Scotia, I purchased a bag of
"suttles"---a bag of wonderful little pieces of fabric! "Suttles
seems to give my scraps a more worthwhile reason for being saved.
Of course, there is always a reason for keeping that bit of
treasured fabric!
I have spent a lifetime making things - doll
clothes, dioramas and things for my doll house under the watchful
eye of my Mother or Grandmother. I graduated to bigger things like
clothes and slipcovers. Now, I'm back to little things!
My latest passion is designing
patterns for sewing accessories -
pincushions, chatelaines, organizers and Victorian reproductions -
under the Magic Mouse Creations trademark. So the jumble of suttles
has grown even larger. As my little Magic Mouse arranged and
rearranged that collection, visions of birds and strawberries and
pincushions and needle holders began to emerge.
As my patterns grew in number, so also did my
collection of antique sewing accessories. I have traveled with
this collection to quilt shows,
quilt guilds Quilt Market, and galleries to share these treasures.
As a former teacher, I've done Teacher Training and workshops for
Quilt Market and quilt guilds. Home base for the Mouse is beautiful
Smith Mountain Lake in Southwestern VA.
Quilters are special!!
